Day of Pumpkins

National Pumpkin Day

Today is National Pumpkin Day. If you haven’t made that trip to the pumpkin patch yet then you better get on it. In honor of this national holiday, and Halloween being right around the corner, we decided to share some movies that will really get you in the pumpkin carving spirit.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001)- This is the first movie of the series when Harry finds out about his wizarding powers. If magic, wizards, and witches are not enough to get you in a Halloween mood, there are some pretty amazing scene filled with carved pumpkins.

Halloweentown (1998)- A family favorite of a girl who learns she is a witch and helps save a town full of other supernatural creatures. If this movie doesn’t get you in the mood, I don’t know what will. The center of the town is a giant jack-o-lantern! Feel free to check out the others in the franchise as well.

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966)- This classic follows the Peanuts gang as they celebrate Halloween and especially centers around Linus awaiting a visit from The Great Pumpkin. A classic that will surely get you in the fall spirit if you’re not there yet.

No matter the occasion, a carved pumpkin is the perfect decoration for this fall season. As you finish the last-minute costume and candy shopping, take time and snuggle up to your favorite fall movie. You may even enjoy something pumpkin flavored in honor of National Pumpkin Day.
